IS it possible for me to loose 30lbs in 60-90 days?

    Hello again.
    Here are my stats:
    36 years old
    6'4
    280lbs-mostly fat
Have been lifting weights on and off since high school
Have not hit the gym with any regularity in more than a year.
Today is 5/1/07 and I'm going to change my life.
I havent used any juice and Im not planning on it till I get this fat off.
So I figure I'd cut out the booze and beer and slack off the carbs, hit the gym and make cardio the FIRST part of my session on an empty stomach.
Is 30 pounds a realistic goal?
    Thank you for any help.
    Enough is enough for me.
    Im inspired now.

If you haven't been hitting the gym regularly, first off, don't get obsessed with the scale's #'s as you may add some muscle pounds. To really track your progress, I'd get bodyfat tested periodically. I wouldn't recommend doing cardio on an empty stomach THEN lifting weights. #1, I'd want to pass out. Secondly, doing cardio first will take away from your energy for the resistance training and lead to a crap workout w/bad form. If doing cardio first thing in the morning and resistance training later in the day isn't an option, I'd eat a slow-digesting carb meal an hour or so before the gym. Lift weights first and then cardio. The intense weight training will ***lete your muscle and liver's glycogen stores and in turn, you will start burning fat on the cardio machine sooner. By the way, the general rule is if you're losing more than 1.5-2lbs/week, you're losing muscle as well. Good luck, you're on the right track!

Might wanna check out the cutting stickie and start making a gameplan, becasue without a solid diet you can hit the gym all you want and you will still look like crap.

    Good luck

Good point, the diet is key. Eat like crap, look like crap ... plain and simple. The sticky mentioned has some excellent advice.

It's possible in closer to 90 days without a doubt. Check out the diet stickies like previously said and then post up a diet in this thread so we can critique it. With a sound diet plan and workout plan you will see amazing results fast at your current state. Good luck!

That is unless you are some genetic freak of nature, those people piss me off!

And i would honestly advise you to not put a time frame on it, at least not a unrealistic time frame.

Shoot for 2.5-3lbs a week and go from there...
