Please shed some light on my question.

why do I find shakes of whatever flavor unappealing to me. I know it has protein(calories) in it and is widely recommended especially if u want to put on massive weight. Unfortunately, I find myself skipping drink this stuff inspite of having on hand. My question is what's the mind-set to continually keep drinking them?

thanks for the tip in advance

No point man, if you are attaing your daily protein needs youll be alright. Actually Its preferable to take your protein from whole food sources, so dont feel bad for dumping the protein powder. BTW what type you using?

I know that off course. But I'm say in addition to that you need to supplement it with whey powder to maximize or surpass your protein needs.

I like vannila for info. Next time read me between the line before u jump into conlcusion.

No you don't...NExt time research more thoroughly before taking a condescending tone with someone who: first, is taking the time to answer your questions; and, second, has a breadth of knowledge far surpassing your own.

No you dont have to supplement, if you have reached the optimal level of daily protein macros then you dont need Whey Protein, its as simple as that. What the reasoning behind surpassing you daily needs? For it to be used as carbohydrates and then stored as fat? There are many that do not utilize supplement of protein, for whatever there personal reason. If you dont like the taste then dump it. If your shakes were giving you 50 grams of protein, then dump that and get your 50g from something else.

Take it easy newb. You haven't offered much, yourself.

Or, I could go back and reword Prada's comment. The guy doesn't like shakes...he doesn't need shakes.

Obviously he meant what brand are you using, not what flavor...

Some brands taste better than others, which is probably why he was asking. You may just have to try a few brands out to find one that you like.

Prada wasn't flaming anyone, or being a jerk. He was just telling the truth. If you are getting all the proteins you need from your regular diet you don't need to drink shakes at all. Shakes are just more convenient and faster for people who have a busy lifestyle.

He was also saying that protein from an actual food source is better than the protein in the shakes, and I think anyone can agree with that.

If you don't like the flavor of your protein, try Optimum Nutrition's. They're good.

I can drink just about any brand, they all taste decent to me as long as they aren't banana flavored. (Even though I like real bananas).

A lot of people who dislike the taste of protein shakes go with the Muscle Milk too.

hey, I wasn't implying Prada was inflaming anyone, I was simply asking he wants the flavor if his general advise is to discard it.

I only have them immediately post workout. The rest of my protein comes from lean meats/fish for the most part.

How many times do u workout assuming that number would reflect the number of times u drink your shakes?

tough to say, bro. I went a long time with just BCAAs followed by a whole meal.

The thing is I want to get my PWO nutrition in immediately after my workout. Technically I could bring whole food, but the whey is convenient, quickly absorbed, and tasted great. So for me, taking into account my own preferences, I think it's worth it.

Okay, if I read u correct, u wouldn't consider any advise that would suggest that u dump your whey into a trash can, is that correct?

    That's correct.

In addition, whey powder PWO is cheaper per serving than a whole meal immediately post workout.

I really do think they are over rated but it works for other pple u won't believe. A simple experience to find out is this. Take two people, measure the weight, feed them equally for one month but in addition to that provide one person with shakes every day for entire month. At the end of the month, measure their weight, u will be surpise that the person who was give shakes in addition meals outweight the person who was not given any shakes during the time. lol

I'm glad we on the same page, perhaps next we will discuss the significant impact of supplements like glutiamine in syntheisizing protein molecule from powder whey protein in the human body (or in the human bloood system).

casein for slow digestion and whey for PWO. And on the contrary shakes are not overrated when your in Iraq with no clean source of food protein available.
