    Question on Dextrose......

    ... sooo..... Dextrose is just basically simple sugar (simple carb) used to spike your insulin PWO so that the nutrients are rushed to your muscles faster thus causing muscle synthesis/repair/restoration/ etc... etc...

    but my question is..... eating 50-60g of sugar everyday for PWO.... wont you maybe... umm... i dont know... risk getting diabetes?!?!?!

    i mean.... your playing with you body obviously, spiking insulin levels to get more muscle, there has to be a side effect to that, just like that water/sodium manipulation. Do that to get a nice ripped look, but wow, the high blood pressure and hypertension after effects sure isnt worth all that!!

    so am i right? can you risk getting diabetes from eating 60g of Dextrose everyday?

    "normal" people eat 5x that much simple sugar on a daily basis....candy bars, soda,

    I don't see why 60gr is a great concern...just mho....

    60g of carbs is nothing... one bowl of macronni and cheese or a plate of spaghetti can have anywhere from 40-100 carbs in it

    You wont get type II diabetes from 60g of carbs in one meal

    My PWO shake has 100g of dex

    a 20oz bottle of coke has 63g of sugar in it

    heck even a 32 oz bottle of gatorade has 57g of sugar in it

    It's about as much sugar as a can of regular soda. Or two bananas.

    Yeah agreed, you get practically that much in simple sugars from a glass of OJ.

    Dextrose is the Ley term for D-glucose, which is the most biologically active form. The idea behind taking dextrose or any other simple sugar PWO is to cause a spike in insulin quickly. Insulin causes an anabolic state at its target cells. This include fatty acid synthesis, amino acid mobilization, and of course increased sugar intake into the cell.

    I work out each body part each diff day, i dont work out my body parts more than 2x in the same week

    well i look at it like i breaking up the month with four 2 day splits or every 28 days i take four 2 days breaks... it ends up being all the same
