    Do you guys do before or after cooked?

    If it can absorb water (rice, oatmeal, etc) weigh it before, if it can cook off some water weight (chicken, beef) weigh after.

    before... raw weight of anything works best

    Wei***ng it raw? Really? It seems like soo much of my beef cooks off that I wouldn't have enough for a meal if I weighed it raw.

    plus if you get a really lean cut of beef (like you should), there wont be much fat to shed while cooking anyways..and the difference is a just a couple grams off...no biggie
