Hey, besides water, what is the best drink to have with a steak and pototoes. I was told tea has more caffenie than a coke at equal amount.

Caffeine isn't bad for dieting at all. 'Caffeine may increase your body's ability to burn calories. Caffeine is thought to stimulate thermogenesis — one way your body generates heat and energy from digesting food.'

tea and diet soda. I wouldn't eat that potato though. That turns to sugar rapidly. Some fatty toppings can slow it down and lower the glycemic load, but you'd really be better off with a better carb source. Or maybe make the steak dinner a protein/fat meal and just get veggies with it and have your carbs at a different meal.

A glass of red wine goes well with a steak too. A good cabernet or maybe a merlot, or one of the Spanish or Portuguese reds. Good stuff.

    Still a good thread!!

tea can strip the iron out of you food so not a good idea with steak. Maybe after you digest your food. Iron is necessary to help the heme carry oxygen.
    Thanks.

I drink lots of tea, and I've never had an iron problem. My blood sinks like a rock every time.

My muscle magazine says caffeine isnt good for burning more calories without ephedra and ephedra isnt good without caffeine. It is a mild diuretic though.
