    I'm Confused Please Help!

I read in the stickies above (LeanMeOut & Mike XXL's) the thing about 'carb/fat separation' meals. I think It makes PERFECT sense in terms of keeping fat gain low (grams of carbs/protein almost equal per day 40/40/20 ratio) for 'clean' bulking. but then I remember those diets by the olympians (Jay, Ronnie, etc), they shoot up like 1000gms carbs, 500gms protein, 150 gms fat per day! that's like 60/30/10 ratio. but still they look relatively lean.

my question is how come? does gear have a big influence on that? also some recommend that kind of ratio.

Also on that pro/carb; pro/fat meals, I thought that 'balance' is sort of the key? but in that way, you either have carbs or little/no carbs on every other meals, w/c contraindicates that 'balance'. What gives?

I know this is kind of a silly question, but I'm still learning about this nutrition/diet stuff (pretty much focused on only training for the past years). I hope you guys can help me clear this out.

You aren't Ronnie Coleman or Jay Cutler!

So don't even waste your time trying to follow a diet like theirs.

Keep it simple and sound and you will go far young padawan. ha

Also look at my thread, you can find it in my signature "So you wanna learn how to diet?"

I'm not gonna follow their diet. that's something I can't afford, & stomach!

I know that. What I'm pointing out is the 'ratio'. coz from the thread above, it's recommended diet to 'clean bulk' of carb/protein/fat ratio is 40/40/20. while on the pros' point of view (& so does a lot of nutritionists), they say 50/30/20 (or 60/30/20, whatever) is the way to go. I know for plain bulking, that's true. but seeing as thier amazingly lean from that, the ratio from above compared to theirs is contradictory, right? that's why I want to know, could someone please elaborate? Thanks!

HOW DARE YOU INSINUATE SUCH THINGS! RONNIE AND JAY ARE 100% NATURAL! LMFAO!

Seriously, don't worry about the professional bodybuilders and their "published" diets. Read around the forums and you'll find plenty of info.

1.5 - 2 grams of protein per LEAN pound of body weight.....don't eat protein and carbs together alone (eat a GOOD fat with the two to slow digestion and aid in absorption).....read around and you'll see many many ideas, you've gotta find out what works best for you.
