    Deer Meat (Vension)

1/4 lb of raw, ground deer meat (hamburger) nutrition facts:
    179 Calories
    9 g Fat
    25 g Protein
    0 g Carbs

I'm basing this on 114 grams of meat, which is about equal to 1/4 lb, which is generally the accepted size of 1 hamburger pattie uncooked.

I've got about 80 lbs of this in my freezer right now.

Venison is great. I don't hunt but I buy a little bit of meat from family and friends that hunt. I usually have them process some of the meat into really thin strips and then I slow cook them with green pepper, onion and a little bit of taco seasoning. It makes AWESOME venison fajitas in wheat tortillas. MMMM...If you don't have venison, try this recipe with thin slices of steak.

Venison is very lean and will shrink up like crazy when you cook it. I used to cut it with some gound pork when i made sausage or burgers with it...

I really didn't feel like spending the money on the first deer I got this year so I didn't even bother getting it processed. I just quartered it out and then cut out the back strap. I brought it back to college with me, and D-boned it in my kitchen.I had 6 freezer bags full of venison in my freezer and I cooked every ounce on the George Foreman grill.Don't think I'll ever do that again. Not my second one though. I couldn't do that again. I guess ill be enjoying jerky and venison burgers for the next month. It's very lean and good, and can also save you alot of money on meat if you can process your own or get it done cheap.
