    saturated fat

Hi guys im trying to cut up here. Im 25, 255ish about 18-20% bf. My diet has def improved, but I want to make sure im not eating to much saturated fat. I eat usually 2-3 protein bars during the day to get me through. (I work at a hospital). These bars have 5g sat fat per bar. On top of that I eat the usual lean chicken, steak, turkey, turkey meatballs, salmon and tuna. If I had to guess I would be getting 20-25g of saturated fat per day. Is this to much?

it would be to me, yes. is there anyway you can bring a lean protein source with you to work, like chicken or tuna? if not... beef jerkey is a reasonable substitute in a tight pinch. just increase your water intake because of the higher sodium content.

Im a nurse, and i work in the icu. Its gets busy quick. I do bring tuna and chicken for lunch, but I work 14 hour days. So in between its what I eat. Yea beef jerky would be good, and prob cheaper than buying boxes of protein bars like i do now.

seems to me that you really have a hard time grabbing a bite. do what you can in those situations. beef jerky, try the low carb snickers marathon protein bar. not many carbs and sort of high in protein if you want a good bar.

just substitute it in when your protein limits are met and your carbs are at a necessary level for bulking or cutting or whatever you're doing. saturated fats aren't really necessary except for pct, so i'd personally keep them under 20g a day since you have to rely on those bars which contain usually 5-8g a pop.

yeah i was talking about supplementing, or in his case, in a protein bar. it isn't necessary to add them to a diet on purpose because they are in our protein sources.
