is it alright if i were to drink 64oz of milk a day? i no a guy who drinks a gallon of milk a day and he is jacked. is there anything wrong with drinking half a gallon a day? it is 72g protien wich would be a great add to the diet. for a meal replacement meal would a weight gainer, mhp up your mass drank in mid day be ok or a waste of time and money? good food is no option

Not that Im trying to pick on you but I hear this WAY too often. Someone does this and that and they are HUGE...well guess what everyone its not because they do that one specific thing.

Or else you could say it about everything. Jay cutler eats fish and hes JACKED, omg Victor Martinez mixed glutamine in his oats and hes so huge.

The point is to eat approx. 2g of protein per pound of body weight, eat a variety or protein sources, take in ample carbohydrates for energy supply and use proper fat sources for membrane support, joint/heart/lung health and hormone production (also ennergy reserve). Take in an adequate amount of calories based on your LBM and workout with hypertrophy in mind.

Case closed; there is no magic fix. The guy gets 72g protein from milk a day. Do you really think he would look ANY different whatsoever if he got that EXACT same amount of protein from eggs or fish?

Are you trying to bulk or cut? Bulking it might not be bad, but cutting I'd say its too much.

there are no specific general rules. like Bino said, what is good for one guy is not good for the guy next to him. try it out for a while and see how you feel and react to it. i'm guessing bloat and serious gas will be the greatest effects.

Yea man, back in 2000 $ was very tight for me and my brother and we were already fed up with trying to keep up with the "newest and best" protien/carb drinks. They're always changing and alwats coming out with "new and improved". Anyway, we drank a gallon a day for protien and even mixed it with Hungry Jack" pancake mix with chocolate syrup or strawberry for additional carbs. Even threw in some eggs occasionally. Worked well for us. Kind of funny now i look back on it but it worked.

I think low fat milk might be underrated. I read before that the sugar in milk is natural sugar and a better carb source than most grains.

It is one of those things I can't make my mind up on.

And the sugar in other foods is... Not Natural? Galactose is formed by glucose and lactase so I dont see what makes it any more natural than plain old table sugar considering that is merely a disacharride of glucose and fructose.

So basically from what I have gathered from all this is that Milk is dependent on whether or not it fits in your macros right?? Ok that being said... I consume on average roughly about 32 oz. of Milk a day. Now I have allowed for it in my Macros but now I am wondering since I am cutting if I should just eliminate it all together. I use it to mix with my Oats and One of Protein shakes in a day ... just for the taste. I have always loved milk. I think I will have a hard time giving it up. See now here is more of my thought .. since I am not going for the BodyBuilding appearance. Ya know like 6% BF and all that.. I am a PowerLifter. Is it really necessary that I be as strict as to eliminate something like Milk that does have a good slam of protein to it?? I mean if ya'll think that I will certainly phase it out. Anything for me to get into the best shape I can get into. Thanks Guys

that's is totally up to you.

if you want that much sugar daily, then it would be ok for it to come from milk IMO. but that's kind of a blanket sweep idea to eliminate it all together.
