Egg Whites
I remember reading somewhere that the egg whites need to be cooked/boiled or whatever for body to use them properly.
And that raw egg whites are actually counterproductive to muscle gain for some reason.
It had some statement like "drinking raw eggs like Rocky wont work"
Please somebody tell me this isnt true......
I often throw a few whole eggs and whites into my protein shake. Raw of course.
Anyone?

if you run a search you will find results. the bioavailability of a raw egg white is very low. albumin needs to be heated to be properly absorbed by the body. the whites should be white (not clear) and firm when they are ready.

Or you could buy pasteurized egg whites and be ok too.

the yolk holds a great amount of protein. nothing wrong with them. but if you have bad cholesterol or a history of high cholesterol in your family. get it checked and then keep an eye on the yolks you eat. one yolk for every 3-4 whites is a good ratio IMO.

^^
what he said. I usually do the 1:3 yolk:eggwhites just because it really gives the eggs more flavor.
