    sugar in my coffee?

I like sugar in my coffee before I workout in the morning is that sabotaging my results? I read a post yesterday that said sugar after a work out spikes insulin and forces your body to store fat? Is that accurate? If it is, are all types of food converted to fat or just carbs?

I have been eating lots of protein and some whole grains thinking it would promote muscle growth but I am not watching my sugar. I have not cut carbs way down because i want to put on muscle. my thought is that if i eat some carbs (whole grains) and lots of protien i will build more muscle. Carb=engery, protien= muscle.

    Does that soud right?

don't use sugar. use splenda if you need it. but you don't want to eat anything if you are doing moderate morning cardio work.

i lift heavy for about 1.5 hours then do 30 to 40 min of intense cardio. i eat a whole wheat begal and about 40gm of whey to jump start my Metabolism. i dont have a problem waiting till after i work out would that be more effective for fat loss?

There is an advantage to spiking your insulin to shuttle nutrients ie: protein and that, into your muscles and that is right after your workout when they're primed for it. I can tell you it worked for me as far as putting weight on. Not all the time just after an aneorobic workout.

ok i thought u were just doing cardio. YES YOU NEED TO EAT before working out. heavy on carbs and protein. and forget about all that insulin crap. not really a factor unless you are injecting exogenous amounts. carbs and protein before and after you workout.
