So I've bought a coffee grinder and am going to start adding ground oats to my shakes. My plan was to grind down raw steel cut oat kernals.. but this stuff is like gravel. I'm really doubting that anyone could digest this uncooked.
I'm thinking "quick oats", which are pre-cooked and dried, might be a better choice. Quick oats' glycemic value is supposedly higher, but raw oats won't do you much good if they just pass through. Anyone have thoughts on this?
