Thread: Too little?

    Too little?

Yeah, so get your mind outta the gutter I've just started a cutting diet and had planned a 50/35/15 2300 calorie diet. I looked up certain foods on fitday and planned out my meals. Well, now that I've started the diet and started keeping up with my daily intake on fitday, the amounts aren't the same. Now, according to fitday, I'm only getting 204/64/59 @ 1731 calories. This includes 2 PWO shakes. Is that not enough? BTW, I'm 6', 194, run 3 miles every morning, lift 3x's a week with cardio before lifting. It doesn't seem like too little intake, I can barely stuff this much food down. Plus I've actually gained 2 lbs ??!?!

Scratch that, Fitday was defaulting to 1 oz portions, 1 cup portions, etc. It's actually 241/179/43 @ 2074 cal's

You gained because your body is getting used to the new diet or it could be water weight. Have you always ran and lifted this much? If you're doing cardio in the morning and 3 days a week it's before you lift are you doing your lifting without eating? If you can, split up your cardio and lifting sessions or do cardio after lifting. If you continue to not drop weight post your entire diet and timing up here so it can be critiqued. You actually may be eating too little cals and your body is holding onto whatever it can!

No, I just started back working out about a month ago, been on this diet less than a week. I run in the am on an empty stomach. I eat about an hour before lifting in the pm. I also run prior to lifting. I run 6 days a week in the mornings, lift every other day in the evening. I guess it just doesn't feel right eating this much food. Hopefully my body will adjust soon enough, my stomach is growling all day even though I eat every 2.5 hours.
