you subtract fiber from carbs. ie 1/2 cup of oats is 27g of carbs and 4g of fiber so its really 23g of carbs.

I've heard both. Some people say they count it towards carb intake but not calories, which makes no sense to me. I dunno, personally I dont count it as anything. Just curious what others do.

hell i just look at carbs, fats, and proteins. if there's fiber...good. but i supplement plenty of fiber into my diet with sugar free metamucil and broccoli out my ass. so what the hell, i just count it in. i guess my carb count would be higher than it would "technically" be. but i don't measure my food out to exacts so i go with rough numbers.

not all do. my ww wraps, subtract the fiber and call them net carbs. just about any brand promoting healthy food advertise net carbs on the front.

The government is stupid, they allow for a 20% error rate on food labeling and they also allow manufactors to round up or in most cases round down caloric totals.

i just add it to my meals as i see fit. usually when i eat a big steak of beef meal i throw it in. now it's supposedly 5g of fiber per teaspoon, but i just dump it in my water. probably 20-25g at a time twice a day usually. that's my guess.

funny you say that because i really don't know what an effective dose may be, and if there are any pros and/or cons associated with a dose like that.

i just reduced my dose to 5g 2-3 times a day, because of tai post saying that if you take too much at one sitting, you lose out on nutrients and just crap it out.

im going back to 10g 2-3 times.
