I have the same problem too, I have always wondered this just never have asked.
you want carbs after your workout, plain and simple. use a lower GI carb source, i prefer oats. if you have whey and skim milk immediately PWO, then you can squeeze some oats and chicken or another lean protein source in before bed.
i can pretty much only fit one more meal so should I just have the shake and oats?
