New to Lifting need advice on dieting

This is my first post here. Im 20 6' 150lbs skinny and trying to get big. Been lifting for about 6 months. Not seeing much physical gains but im lifting more weight. I realized after hearing from a few people that diet is very very important in building mass and I know for a fact im not eating right. I need some advice on a diet thats going to make me get big and build some muscle. What should I be eating, how much, what supplements should I be taking.

Yeah dude, I was 6'2" and 155 lbs when I started lifting, but I was very active in soccer and track. I stopped running every day, I take it real easy on cardio and eat a ton of calories, 4000 - 5000 a day and I gained 50 pounds in 18 months with 8% body fat. I was right at your age too. Lots of protein bro, I alternate a shake (I like Muscle Milk) and a meal all day making sure I get something in every 1.5 to 2 hours. When I have a meal I have lots of carbs and plenty of meat. Complex carbohydrates are great for guys like us. Eat lots of em.

Hey bro, you will find that on this board you wont get much help if you dont first try to help yourself. All the info you need is here, but do some research before you start posting questions. I did the same thing when I first started using these forums. good luck

I understand what your saying there mate but the point he was trying to make is that no one is gonna design you a custom diet. the best thing you can do is read all the threads (esp. the stickies) and write up ur own diet, which allows for your daily grind and the right meals at the right time (eg. upon waking, before bed, pre and post workout) then write it all up in a thread and ask people to critique it, then they will tell you when your going wrong and what to do to put it right.

It takes a suprising amount of time to get a diet right, which is why very few people will do it for you!

once you have your sample diet, my advice would be to send it to an experienced member and ask for his advice. I wont mention his name as thats probably not fair on him, but he has created a thread saying he is happy to help people your age, so have a look and you should see what im on about pretty quick!

Also i see someone has sent you a link, i havent looked at it so i dont know what it is, but you should be looking at the "how to bulk" sticky at the top of the diet page, this will help you work out what you need to be eating, its then up to you to put the theory into practice!

    best of luck anyway man!
