Seperating your pwo carbs from your Pwo protein-15min?

I read that people are doing this now ,why?I would think cause too many cals at once for instance 80 grams waximaize and 50 grams whey isolate is 530 cals.Today for the first time I used 80 grams instead of my usual 60 with 50 grams whey instead of my usual 25 and got an upset stomach. Is this why?

don't know why you have an upset stomach or why anyone would do this. your stomach may be upset in a similar way to those who eat too many sweets. no reason to separate IMO.

I read somewhere that people were separating out fast absorbing carbs from protein on the idea that when mixed the protein would slow down the absorbtion of the carbs. I don't really know if that is valid so you'd need to confirm if that is correct.

which wouldn't matter anyway. in any case, adding protein to any carb source subsequently lower the GI of the meal.

So would that indicate its better to chug per say a 50/50 malto/dextrose shake first, followed by a protein shake 15 minutes later?

Would that benefit more than mixing them together?

(this is the first time i'm hearing this so i'm just curious)

Wait a minute,if lowering the GI wouldn't that slow the absorbtion.Maybe that's why people do it?

eh, not if it's dex and whey. it's a general rule, but with those two it's like slowing down a bullet juuuust a little. still very fast. plus any insulin response (no, not a spike) will stop cortisol, and the whole offering will begin protein synthesis and glycogen replenishment. as long as you eat pro/carb, it honestly doesn't matter much at all what you have.
