    Unhappy Please Explain Bulking Barney Style

    Hey I know this is gonna sound stupid on a site like this, but i'm lost. While deployed to afghanistan I was able to put on noticable amounts of muscle by working out twice a day and eating and drinking mass shakes often. But now i want to get serious about bulking but all these terms confuse me.....

    macros? Harris Benedict? cheating? Pro? Fat? Carb? Insulin spikes?

    Please someone explain or point me to an article that will!

    I'm not concerned about dirty/clean bulk. I just wanna put on mass.

    I'm - 21 years old. 6'4. 195 pounds. And I never seem to gain. Please help. Thanks

    protein 240g fat 40 Carbohydrate 0.745g and if im not mistaken im still learning myself a macro is the total number lets say protein for the day meaning the number 240

    cheating in a meal means once a week or two times a month whatever u feel like is ok for u you can eat whatever you want so u dont get bored with u diet and give up on it just remember when u cheat and over do it u have to pay the price in the gym lol

    and insulin spinking i have no clue like i said im new to this too

    FOR FIGURING MACROS
    you take protein grams multiply by 4
    take carbs multiply by 4
    take fat multiply by 9
    once you do that you divide each of those numbers by your total calories for the day for percentages for example;

    billy bob had 200g protein, 300 g carbs and 100g fat for the day. he had 2900 calories that day. so 200x4=800 800/2900= 27% protein. carbs 300x4=1200. 1200/2900=42%carbs. and 100x9=900. 900/2900=31% fat.

    from what I've gathered, when your insulin spikes, you store fat. eating a carb/fat meal would do this.

    ar monitor or regular, double check-

    excessive insulin has been linked to "targeting" fat cells which in theory would lead to adipose tissue(fat).
