    i'm about 6'1 180 with an empty stomach and trying to get down to single digits while keeping and gaining some muscle.. i started thinking thin and made a cutting diet about 3 weeks ago and have lost about 5 pounds. im trying to get my lower stomach, lower back real cut up and defined.

    I want to say 10....but you do not have much muscle mass...so probably closer to 12.

    Forget the cutting and gain some lean mass....JMO

    im trying to turn my bodyfat into lean mass.... my overall goal is to be 185 with like a 7 or 8% bf. i only want to build a bigger chest and legs.. maybe a little more size on my arms... i used to not change up my workout routines and was overtraining but i have it corrected and i am now seeing improvements every week.

    This cannot be done...you can lose fat and gain muscle...but fat will not turn to muscle...but I am sure thats what you meant.

    My advise is to pick one goal....once it is acieved then work on the other. I would try to lean bulk up to 200lbs....and try to maintain roughly ythe same BF. Once that goal is obtained....cut back down to 185...and you should be right where you want to be.

    Second the fact that you dont actually turn bodyfat into muscle. Additionally, muscle cannot turn into fat. People seem to think that - I have heard so many people say that they dont wanna gain a lot of muscle because if they stop working out, it will just turn to fat...not true at all.

    While you can technically build muscle and lose fat (though at one instant you probably cant do both) throughout the day, it take a perfectly tailored diet and plan that is well beyond the abilities of most people to do. Stick with one or the other.

    At you current look, I would def clean bulk. Simply adding size should make you appear leaner. You have that soft look even though your bf is pretty low.

    ya, your lean enough...shit im gonna start bulking at around 12%ish

    you need to put on size then cut after a bit! I would hit 200ish but everyone's goals are different.

    when do you lift according to your diet? Your diet needs some improvement as well, JMO.

    monday- back/bi's <80 min
    wednesday- shoulders/legs <80 min
    friday- chest/tri's <80 min

    cardio (soon to be)
    tuesday- 45 min biking
    thursday- 45 min biking
    saturday- 2 hours on and off hockey

    Forget the cutting. Deffinetly do a bulk cycle. You need like 20 lbs of muscle before you cut.

    its a matter of preference. i want to end up final result 185 at most with say 7 or 8% bf, and i am 180 now. i in NO WAY wanna be a meathead looking dude. i do plumbing and HVAC work and i have to get into some tight spots at times and do not want my body limiting what i work i can do. everyone has their own idea of the perfect body.

    Nonetheless, by adding a good 10-15 lbs of lean body mass, then cut down to 185. You should be that low bf wise, look 20-30 lbs bigger than you do know, and be almost the exaxt same size in respect to volume
