    effects of artificial sweeteners on fat metabolization

    does anyone know a study or something that talks about the effects of artificial sweeteners on fat metabolism and fat loss in general?

    Yeah I second that bump, I consume about 15 of the small packets of Splenda a day between oats, green tea, and coffee.

    There are a few threads on this.... I dont have the links to the studies but the search function will allow you to acquire the information your looking for.... Consumption of artificial sweeteners caused no change in insulin secretion or blood sugar and the only known negative side effect that has been proven is appetite stimulation so as long as your tracking how much your eating you will be fine...

    To my knowledge many of these products, ie.sucralose(splenda) actually aren't calorie free as marketed but since they contain less then 5 calories per serving(if my memory is correct) they are not obliged to state so. Therefore I guess its subjective as to if one wants to calculate it in there daily totals or not. The calories are negligible.
