    Picky eater needs help

    As with the protein thread already started, I have the same problem. I am not a vegetarian, but I am a very picky eater. If I eat only specific types of foods is that bad? As far as protein, I don't really see a problem. I will eat any kind of meat. But with carbs, if I stuck to mainly eating slices of wheat bread, wheat bread pancakes, and a couple of other carb sources would that be bad? I have been trying new foods but I just can't do it. When I eat oatmeal I feel like throwing up. Same goes for most vegetables.

    I don't know anything about the effects of eating one type of wholegrain carbs. Have you tried blending the oats with a hand blender and then drinking them? Perhaps add some chocolate whey to make it more palatable.

    If you vary your choice of vegetables it increases your chances of getting all the nutritional advantages of them.
    For fruit and vege it is recommended to eat at least:

    * One serving of a vitamin A-rich fruit or vegetable a day.
    * One serving of a vitamin C-rich fruit or vegetable a day. (orange colour)
    * One serving of a high-fiber fruit or vegetable a day. (crunchy/chewy)
    * Several servings of cruciferous vegetables a week. (dark green colour)

    So if your choice of vegetables covers all areas of the nutrients then it shouldn't matter if you eat them all the time.
