    Working Out, PWO, and Sleep

Well, not quite sure where to post this, but here it is.

I was at the gym late last night. Talked with this guy and he rambled on about how you should sleep right after a workout. And he doesn't take PWO. Cuz he said sleeping is his PWO. And he wasn't a huge guy, but not small either.

Now, I'm going to throw out a few scenarios:

    1. Working out, PWO, then sleep (about 8 hrs)
    2. working out, no PWO, then sleep (bout 8 hours)
    3. working out, PWO, then sleep (30 min. nap)
    4. working out, no PWO, then sleep (30 min nap)

Is sleeping actually good after a workout? How much sleep? And what about PWO and sleep? I don't think one would want to down all those carbs before bed?

    Thoughts?????

PWO doesnt really matter before bed, and excess of calories is and excess of calories no matter what time of day.

I used to do this all the time when I first started working out...take my PWO shake and pass out for 3 hours. Mostly because when I first started working out it was the first time I got my ass off a chair and did something in years.

Well Im no NarkNovaBeastPinnacle Buttttt, I would say go with option 3. I think PWO is a MUST and taking a nap after lifting could only be beneficial. Your cortisole levels are raised after intense physical activity, so any relaxation techniques after a workout should theoretically help bring them back down. Like someone els up there said, I could never full on sleep after a workout, but I think a nap would be a good idea.

i read an article today actually recommending a 20 min nap after your ppwo. Tried it, problem was it took me 20 mins to fall asleep! so just relaxed instead.lol
