Thread: Diet Soda...Yes or No when cutting?

Diet Soda...Yes or No when cutting?

I rarely ever drink soda at all but maybe 2-3 times a month I get a craving for a diet coke or whatever. I'm strict with my dieting since I'm trying to cut bf% and 99% of the time stick to water.

My question is to those of you who are cutting and/or trying to lean out.....do you drink diet sodas? Will having one here or there once in a blue moon be bad?

The label makes it look like you can drink them everyday (0 cars, 0 sugar, 10 calories, etc) but I'm assuming there's gotta be something bad about them when dieting.

I dont see any problem with it if it helps you adhere to your diet.

If you guys read my post I said I hardly EVER drink it. I said MAYBE 2-3 times per MONTH I'll drink ONE diet soda.

You guys are making it seem like I said I drink them all the time.

Not good for you but if it keeps you sane it won't exactly hurt you. Make sure to drink some water to flush it out.

I don't think it is all that bad every once in ahwile. In older posts I have seen many vets endorse them.

You'll be good....I drink 3-4 mich ultras a week and I am still dropping 1% a week so far so I wouldn't worry. I know dudes who are jacked and shredded and get wasted every weekend. Not that I recommend it but it shows you that you have some lee way if all out results aren't that important.

Aspartame will make you hungry 30mins after drinking the diet cola. Plus i felt like my face was all bloated when i drank them. Of course id drink 2L. everyday. But everyone agrees in the scientific comunity: drinking aspartame drinks is very bad for you. If you drink 2-3 a month why even ask?

    Diet cola contains SODIUM:

Diet soda contains a LOT of sodium.
NOT good if you're trying to loose water weight, or have high blood pressure.

Dark sodas have also been linked with increase risk of heart disease.

If you're like me, and you have to have a diet soda every now and then, go with light colored diet sodas with splenda.
