    Water with meals?

    was talkin to a guy about drinking water with meals. Is it not good to drink a bunch of water with meals? I have always drank a lot of water like 64oz with my meals

    I would not suggest having too much with meals. Drinking too much will dilutecdugestuve juices in your stomach making digestion harder and speeding up gastric emptying time. I would suggest drinking 1gallon per day. About 16oz when you wake, 8oz with each meal, 8oz between meals and another 16 before bed. These are obviously not exact as exercise and bodyweight etc all contribute. But that's a good base and if you are in the sun a lot or doing a lot of exercise and losing water weight try to take in 16oz for every lost lb due to water loss.

    most people dont drink enough water. i think a gallon is low.

    I need a lot of water to help wash down the dry tuna and chicken.

    When I eat less healthy I end up dehydrated. Maybe it's just me...

    Quick way to estimate minimum requirement of water for your body is to take your weight in kilos and that is what you should drink per day. Example a 200lb. person would need to consume 100oz. of water (roughly) per day. Now depending on your activity you would need to adjust your water intake as well.

    I try and drink a lot of water when I can, at least a pint of water with every meal.
