yes because it is key in mediating all cellular interactions in your body, metabolism, and transport of nutrients and waste products... it's like a necessary lubricant for the machine that is your body...also your muscles need good hydration to optimize protein synthesis and muscle repair
no because it does not have any anabolic properties in and of itself...
