    Help with carbs..

Well this is targeted towards more of a cutting diet. Not really lookign for a specific diet just want to get some facts straight with you pro's.

Basically the timing for LOW GI and HIGH GI carbs..

For cutting.. Low GI carbs should be the staple? Am i correct?

And using HIGH GI carbs should be used for During or after Workout.

A few low GI carbs. (just a few examples.. not really my choices)
    Oranges
    apples
    Fat free milk
    Wheat bread
    Cooked carrots

A few High GI carbs (again just examples)
    Rice cakes
    White bread
    Watermelon
    brown rice pasta
    Potatoes (some say more medium)

Now incorporating this into a cutting diet. What carbs should be used WHEN. for optimal fat loss and energy.

? any insight would be great. Not looking to get flamed here just want to get things straight since i read alot of different info here and there..

i don't use high GI carbs. i stick to potatoes and fibrous veggies. they have worked so well for me in the past that i absolutely stick to them. occassionally when im in a pinch i will throw in an apple or blueberries because i can hide that i'm eating them. but aside from milk PWO i stick to sweet potatoes, red potatoes, and the occasional cup of oats (again, pwo).

since i've mentioned it. i think my new pwo is going to be:

    1 scoop of whey
    1 cup of skim milk
1 cup of fat free cottage cheese
    1 cup of oats

i stay lean year round. i enjoy cardio a few times a week in the morning. sometimes i'll ride a bike at night or play basketball, frisbee, football, or volleyball competitively.

works for me, as i am active and i try to gain size and strength like a bodybuilder and still maintain my love for athletics through playing.

i played for two summers. this summer i did not. i'm only 5'9" so i basically am there for my quickness and i'm a decent digger. i can spike but i'll leave that to my 6'5 and 6'3 teammates. 3v3.

A few summers ago I got into beach volleyball with some friends. We played 2v2 at least twice a week...I found it to be an awesome workout and fun as hell. I'm like you, 5'-10" and could spike but was more relied on for my quickness and digging. I need to get back into playing, it's a lot better than boring treadmill cardio.
