protein amount when NOT on the gear

I am not going to start my cycle until Nov.1 so I have to months to see if I can max out my genetic limit a little bit more I start (since I start baseball conditioning in January). Anyways my question was, when not on the gear what is the general rule of thumb in the amount of protein intake per day? I have heard 1.5-2g per lb body weight. Would 2 benefit me much more than 1.5 or would I just be wasting money?

Depends. Lets say you are 250lbs. 500g of protein per day seems a bit unreasonable. 200g is a good number. Also, i wouldnt eat differently on/off.

I agree with Jigga, you need around 200G a day... From food, whatever 60-80 from shakes is fine too.

needs to be a percentage of your intake cals. whatever your intake cals are off cycle let your protien make up 40% of that.

you can do better than this. why use a general rule of thumb when you can be scientific about it.

takes energy to process protien. 20% of cals from protien are spent in digestion. thats one reason why its good to have a big %tage of your cals come from protien

just keep water intake up....shouldn't be a problem....also take your multivitamins...pissing extra you will dilute your sodium, potassium serum concentration...etc...

I agree, if you mean its for pissing your kidneys out. That much protein over time will kill your kidneys.

that sounds as ridiculous as it prob is. Bodybuilders max (from what I have read) only go up to 1.5g per lb of body weight MAX. So I will go for 200g about 20g over my body weight (180g = 180 lbs)

I would say 2-3 grams per pound sounds excessive.
I weigh around 200 pounds and I always take in 200 to maybe 250 a day.
I think the real key is spacing it out throughout your day so you constantly have protein for your body to use.

how much do they weigh? if the biggest was 300lbs then by my calcs on a 40/40/20 split he would be taking in 4500/day. I would have thought theyd be higher
