    PWO Carb Alternatives

I normally consume 2 scoops of protein and 2 scoops of dextrose. What are other exceptable carbs postworkout. Also am I consuming enough dextrose. I know it's a 2:1 ratio, so if I consume 2 32g scoops of protein should I consume 4 32gram scoops of dextrose?

how would gatorade be bad, besides for the fact that it's fast-acting, which arguably is better anyway

well that is the good ol "bro-knowledge" that gets passed around.
not true. u need some carbs some protein and a little bit of healthy fats.

1 scoop whey, 1 cup cottage cheese.
2 cups skim milk, 1-2 red potatoes.

there you go, got your carbs, some fat, and protein.

plus why in the hell do people think you need 80 or so grams of carbs PWO?
    you probably need 30-50g max.

address your PPWO meal in the same way, just complete with a whole protein source, and if you choose, you could have a whole protein source PWO as well.

i like to spike my insulin levels after workout, and shuttle the protein into my muscles..and i also dont feel healthy taking in 80g of pure sugar, so gatorade is a good alternative

you wont get an insulin spike from eating food, only if you're using slin.
and shuttle into muscles, doesnt happen. blunting cortisol, and beginning protein synthesis are your objectives, and any meal with do that.

really? everything i've ever read says it's possible to spike insulin levels without using slin.. any study on this that shows it's not possible? i'd be interested in reading it.. if this were true, everyone that uses dextrose after workout would be basically putting 80g of sugar into their body for absolutely no reason

I don't buy into the hype. I tried it and noticed no difference what-so-ever. The only thing i did noticed was a huge pile of sugar in my protein shake which is why i no longer spike my insulin PWO.

Nova what are your thoughts on fat intake and blunting cortisol? My understanding it impedes the process if I recall well.
