Cutting with fruits, ally or enemy?

I want to know if having a piece of fruit or two is going to affect my progress too much or not? If any, are there any fruits that are more beneficial than others?

I usually add them to my shakes including PWO.....banana in particular......mainly for the taste as I believe it has no effect on insulin , not 100% sure this is correct though.

They are a low gi, and are packed with vitamins and fiber . . . although i am aware they contain fructose which is processed in the liver, but when would this become a problem? Is a couple of fruits per day deemed as being excessive levels of fructose?

    read that cheers dude . . .

still a little confused, as far as i know fruits are a low gi so have little impact on glucemia, they provide alot of fiber, anti-o´s, vits/minerals . . . so whats the problem??

ok they replenish glycogen stores in the liver, but so do all carbohydrates. I can only imagine the problem is there capacity to convert to tri-glycerides more than other forms of carbohydrates, but surely this only happens with excessive consumption . . .

    Anyone?

I consume fruit on my carb up days, mostly during my pwo meal. Bananas are a good choice but cherries, apples, and grapefruit are all lower GI. Ultimately if you can work them into your macros then go for it!

    I agree^^^

I like berries as well... When I cut using a carb cycling diet, I always have at least 1 piece of fruit everyday and 2-4 when bulking...

I use some fruits for their health benefits but I do my best to fit them into the macros. If eating fruit slows down my diet just a little bit but I still get the nutrients from them it's well worth it.
