    Cholesterol Problems...

    O.K. I am 5'7"...151lbs. 8%bf... I do not think that cholesterol is a big probelm for me now... but I eat a lot of eggs in the morning... 5, and that 215mg chol for each egg... so over 1000 mg each day at least... does whole wheat bread help lower that, and by how much? Am I putting in way too much chol?

    first, arbitrarily speaking, it is suggested not to exceed 3 egg yolks/day because anymore may start to influence your blood cholesterol levels, although marginally and not as a main contributing factor i would say

    as a corollary of the above, many expert opinions and some studies have demonstrated that LDL (bad cholesterol) is not directly influenced by exogenous cholesterol consumption but more over the result of the body's own processes... for example, if you take AIs or gear like winny, your lipid profile may be screwed regardless of all the EFAs you consume or cholesterol u eschew... on the other hand, nolvadex does wonders..its all hormonal

    so to answer ur q, you wont know till u get your bloodwork done...

    After work I will post a study if I can. They had volunteers eat 6 whole eggs 3 times per day. So pretty much their entire diet was 18 whole eggs daily for a month.

    Result, cholesterol values LOWERED. Probably because they were only eating eggs and no refined sugars and trans fats etc. Also, eggs contain a ton of nutrients and vitamins.

    yeah its wierd ...I read an article stating people on atkins diet also lower cholesterol levels and they pay no attention to cholesterol content , sat fat etc.... they also lower triglyceride levels as well ..good article cited actual factual examples. Interesting how the body works ...wonder if in the atkins case its due to lowering overall bodyfat ...i dunno ....

    Just the regular checkup should have a comprehensive blood lipid profile as a basic feature anyways, stuff like;

    Triglycerides
    Total Cholesterol
    HDL
    LDL
    etc....

    Check this thread for more info:
