Fruit along with a meal is Bad??

Ok, so the lady friend reads a ton of books on Health and Nutrition. Lately, she has been preaching to me that if you eat fruit as a part of your meal, or with other food it is terrible for you. Her reasoning is that th food takes a long time to digest, so the fruit just sits in the stomach and rots? LOL...Is this a bunch of BS or what? Can anyone support this theory?

BS..... if you can get your fruits in veggies in that should be your main concern. Most people including us BB do not eat enough fruits and veggies even if we try..

She probably took what she read out of context; other foods do take priority in the digestive system (lipids), but I wouldn't see that being 'terrible' for you.

What are the best fruits for you to eat when you're on a diet? I know alot of fruit has tons of sugar. Just snack it some time in the day?

Different kind of sugar, fructose vs sucrose. Sugar is on labels solely to advise people of tooth decay. Many natural sugars are lower GI like in milk, apples and cherries.

Contrast that with maltodextrin which is not technically a sugar and it is used in most protein powders as a carb source is very, very high GI and might as well be straight sugar. Go figure.

I prefer to eat fruit on my refeed days (high carb)... I try to have a small piece of low GI fruit with about 4 meals (two of them being pre and pwo) when cutting.
