Thread: Building muscle without protein

    Building muscle without protein

Do you guys think its in general, possible to build muscle without taking massive quantities of protein?

Do you think the body can maintain steroid gains without taking massive quantities of protein?

I am fully aware of the benefits and need of a high protein, correct diet for muscle building, but was just curious how much that variable can be measured in a qualitative sense (if it were taken away).

You don't have to look to far to see many examples of low protein diets.

Protein is the key to building muscle tissues.

    ...

this might be a dumb question, Im sorry if Im a little confused. Are you asking from a meat protein perspective or without much protein all together? I only ask this cause my friend (a vegetarian) asked the same question. What he was meaning to ask was if MEAT protein was essential, or if he could just get it from fortified soya products, beans/lentils, nuts etc.

This thread is very vague... Where is the real question?

Maintaining 'steroid gains' is not related to 'massive amounts of protein'...

For that matter, define 'massive' with regard to protein intake.

.75gr/lb may be considered 'massive' by a sedentary individual... but miniscule by a 2gr/lb practitioner.

    Personally I consume .75gr/lb

    So clarify your questions/statements.
