So if you are like me then you have heard about leptin when Dieting for weightloss.
It so happens that today I found myself Studying for PathoPhysiology and They had a pretty intersting paragraph about it which pretty much breaks it down without Much complication.
"Recent evidence suggests that the hypothalmus also senses the amount of energy that is stored in fat cells through a hormone called Leptin. Increased amounts of Leptin are released from the adipocytes when fat stores are increased. The stimulation of leptin receptors in the hypothalamus produces a decrease in apetite and food intake as well as an increase in metablic and energy compsumption. It also produces a decrease in insulin release from the beta cells which decreases energy storage in fat cells"

Well this explains why having one cheat meal a week is only beneficial to keep your metabolism going, This also explains why we ussually have decreased apetite the day after the cheal meal. Remember this is a good sign of leptin release and that we are moving in the right direction.
Remember that as long as you stay in a hypocaloric state during the week you will be fine. I preffer to do it Once every two weeks, But once a week will not do you any Harm.
So go and have that cheat meal!!
