    Protein intake when bulking

What would be the optimal protein intake during bulking?

    I'm taking in:

    - 400 to 550g carbs (550 on training days, 400 on normal days)
    - 220 to 250g protein (220 on non traning days, 250 on training days)
    - 130-150g fats (alot from from fishoil, oliveoil..)

The carbs I will regulate to how my weight is going up (not enough or to much).

Fat will stay about the same.

Should I up the protein for maximum results? or is this enough when you have a lot of carbs?

    Weight: 200pounds +/- a few.. depends

So protein ranges from: 1.15xbodyweight and 1.25xbodyweight

Protein- A lot of people drastically reduce their protein intake when bulking and it is true you do need less protein during bulking than you do when cutting. However, if you are training intensely you still need a lot more than most people. I would recommend at least 1g per pound of bodyweight.

2 grams per lb bodyweight(minimum). Your quote was from a "natural" bodybuilder who would not require as much protein cuz he won't gain as much muscle as a chemically enhanced bodybuilder.

Carbs are "protein sparing" so when bulking and there are plenty of carbs and fats in the diet you dont need to run the protein as high as when you are cutting.

    Yep I've read about that
Sounds pretty good to me right now, I am on a tight budget so I can't afford to go crazy high with protein.

Carbs costs about nothing.. freakin 2 pounds of pasta for two dollars..

I'd never go over 1.5g/lb of lean mass.

No reason to do any more than that bulking or cutting.
