Fat loss on calorie surplus
Hey guys, I've got a pretty noob question that's got me a little confused...
I was always under the impression that you cannot cut/bulk at the same time, however...
1) Is it possible to drop body fat while on a calorie surplus, or do you have to be in a deficit?
2) I'm assuming it may be a bit different both on/off cycle?
3) Will things like A.M cardio still help in dropping body fat during a clean bulk, assuming diet and such is in check?
Thanks for everyone's help

I was able to gain 12lbs in 4 months while my body fat dropped. I netted 22lbs lean mass according to compression chamber. It was the test and clean diet that did it.

While you may not be able to gain muscle and lose fat at the exact same moment in time you can definately do it over a period of weeks or months. Your diet, training and cardio need to be spot on, especially if doing it naturally.

Just stating that you have a caloric 'surplus' means that this surplus will have to be stored. Without the help of drugs the body will have a very hard time keeping the most of the excess from being stored as adipose. How much depends highly on your macros, training/physical activity, somatotype, etc.
Drug wise Trenbolone helps to promote adipose loss. So does HGH. On these drugs (and others) I would say it is very possible to burn fat on a caloric surplus.Last edited by Polska; 02-23-2009 at 04:51 PM.
