diet for retaining muscle post surgery

I will be having surgery done for a hernia soon. basically im just not sure how to diet post surgery. I hear it will take 6-8wks till I can back to my normal workouts so how should I alter my diet to maintain muscle while not being able to train for that period. I having been bulking up for a while now (not on cycle) and my bodyfat% is as high as Id like it to go. I would like to take this time off to lose as much body fat as possible while still retaining as much muscle as possible without being able to train and a very good chance of no cardio either. anyone have any ideas on what kind of diet I should be looking at for my goals? thanks for the help.

after i had surgery i kept my diet high in protein and dropped the carbs down, be careful or your bf can easily go up, the thing is if you have been dedicated to workingout you are going to loose muscle because there will be no resistance training the good thing is you will be able to come back fairly quickly just start slow, goodluck bro it sucks i know.

I was down for months after a bike accident, didn't work out for six months! I kept my protein intake up, drank alot of milk, tried to watch the carbs, but you want to make sure your body gets plenty of nutrients to heal your injuries, I don't think it would be a wise time to try and lose bodyfat, feed your body and focus on healing.
