    Electronic BF% and BMI Monitors

Are things things accurate at all? I have a handheld and scale type version. Just wondering how much I can trust trying to track my progress.

Skin fold measurements and underwater weighingare the most accurate. The hand held uses Bioelectrical Impedance to calculate the reading. It takes into account the different rates at which electrical signals pass through fat and lean tissue and computes the percentage.

They are known to be inaccurate, but if it's consistent with it's readings you can use it to track changes in your body fat. Just try and test under the same conditions every time to rule out variables.
