    carbs carbs carbs

I think a lot of people know what foods to eat for protein, but the problem i'm having lately is getting enough carbs. I'm not eating enough to gain as fast as I want. I have an active job and that makes it even harder to bulk. So i'm asking what are some good foods for complex carbs. Stuff easy to make and i can get down quickly. I already know rice and oats.

apples and fruit juices are simple sugars, potatos are starchy carbs, what do you mean by "fast carbs"

that's what i thought too but look at this chart showing that apple juice and orange juice are complex carbs.

    http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/...cfoodchart.htm

by fast carbs i mean fast digesting (simple) carbs.

That is not what the chart says at all.

apple juice is 41 and orange 52. catagorized as low GI. Meaning digests slowly, right?

no, glycemic index refers to how fast something releases sugar into your system, but it's slightly biased

If you need to be able to get carbs fast, cook 24-30 oz of potatoes and throw them in a container with whatever protein source you're using. They take seconds to eat with some hot sauce. Cholulu is my fav sauce, try it out.

Whole wheat wraps, wheat bread. I don't eat sweet potatoes, hate em. I eat red potatoes about 3 times a day, 1 meal with 2 wraps which = 60 carbs and another with whole wheat bread 3 pieces which = around 60 carbs and for my breakfast and post workout meal I use oats and egg whites.

If you ask me, if you don't like sweet potatoes and brown rice which are obviously the "best" source of carbs for bodybuilding it's ok, I don't think it will slow your process hardly any,(if any) if you just eat regular potatoes, white rice, ect as long as you're getting oats and whole wheats in there.

    Good luck.

depends, if you make the sauce yourself and just use a tomota paste base with lots of veges and whole wheat pasta you can make it work

Like some say go by the glycemic index, the lower the better
Complex carbs all the time besides after your workout.

some good carb sources- Fruit, whole wheat anything(pasta, bread), yams, red potatoes, brown rice, OATS, vegetables, oragnic yogurt, milk

Make sure to read the ingredients, its list from the most abundant source to least in the product.

    Hope it helped

hell ya. I used to do that all the time.

I don't eat alot of pasta anymore, but when I did, I'd mix some tuna in with the pasta, and gobble it up.

I wonder if you took all of those things mentioned and blended it up, would it make a super carb source? lol I'd drink it, or make cookies out of it.

WW pasta has no fat, add a can of diced tomato, fresh basil.
    Sweet Potato
    Butternut squash
    Spaghetti squash
Depending on what fats your eating and if you eat them with your carbs, you can put a little olive oil with garlic powder on Pasta and spaghetti squash.
I make oatmeal patties with eggs oats, cheddar cheese and seasoning.

I usually never eat carbs with protein or fat but that's me
