    keto diet?

I'm about to start the keto diet in less than a week. I have everything I need. I'm really looking forward to this and have high expectations. I don't want to make any mistakes and get thrown out of ketosis. What is the deal with cheese. There are no carbs in it and I'd like to put that in my eggs and salad. Is this allowed? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Could anyone answer my question? Again, does anyone know if cheese is allowed on Palumbos diet or not? If you aren't sure you don't need to respond.

keto is a cutting diet which also helps PRESERVE existing muscle while dieting. It is not generally used for GAINING muscle. (Although it can be). So with that said and the fact that you will be in caloric deficit, obviously your workouts will suffer somewhat. You aren't trying to make gains. Many people actually cut their workout volume and intensity quite a bit on this diet. Because, once again, the goal is to preserve as much as possible. Not to grow.

Thanks. I've done loads of research on this diet and read many of your posts. Is cheese allowed on the diet? Can it be thrown in my salads or in my eggs? I've done hours of research and haven't found an answer to this question.

I never used any dairy other than in my weekly cheatmeal, but other members here have pointed out to me that you can find cheeses with under half a gram of carbs from sugar per serving. I think in moderation it would be ok to use those types of cheese with your salad and eggs. But make sure it's used sparingly.

I've been on the diet for a week now and I feel great. My energy levels are through the roof and I'm getting less than 30 carbs a day. I'm following Palumbo's keto diet exactly how it is written. I will never follow another plan to lose excess bf. My strength may have went down a little but not enough to be concerned about. Two cardio sessions a day and I don't feel flat. I went out on a limb and tried something new and I'm so glad I did!

I was able to pretty much maintain my strength all the way through also on keto but that first week before my body swicthed over to ketosis was rough felt like I was in a perpetual brain fog. Used the keto strips relegiously just to be sure all was good. How long do your cardio sessions last since your doing it twice a day? I remember feeling flat on keto if i approched the 40min mark.

I don't do cardio twice every day. Wed and Thurs of this week I did two 45min sessions.
