how many of you on average weigh everything and eat super strict 24/7
just curious who here actually stays perfectly in line on their diet 24/7 365..i read these sample diet stickies and they almost make me lol, not because they are bad, it's just they seem so perfect and unrealistic for a person who works full time and goes to school and is single. How do you people that do stick to them perfectly manage to make them happen? do you guys have your girlfriends cook for you or something? im currently eating two chicken breasts and brown rice, unweighed, and uncalculated, and i ate two protein bars this morning lol

if i can do it anybody can.. its all mental.. i come from an italian family where everything tasttes amazing and homemade! but let me tell you ive been clean strict for a week and i can fight the urge too.. just get used to it, prepare yourself mentally, and think about the long term goal! i got to school fulltime and work 2 jobs, so i sometimes have to prepack my food. it takes alot of time but if your dedicated enough to it and care to make a change you can definately do it.

I did it for two years where I logged every single calorie and breakdown when I was competing
Now I have a good idea of how much things are from doing that so I don't weigh or count now.......but I am not competing now either. If I compete I would log everything again

I do.
I weigh everything (except veggies).
I have a full time job and do part time free lance work on the side. I have big cooking days on Sun and Wed night. Everything is packed in tupperware for the next few days.
I don't have cheat meals; I have re-feeds with healthy carbs.

That helps a lot. Sunday night is cooking and portioning night for me, and it's a chore, but makes the rest of the week so easy its worth it.

I weigh everything, so I know Im getting the macros I need. like said above I pre cook every meal for the wk on sunday besides breakfast and dinner. most meat will stay good for seven days. The only thing I dont pre cook is veggies since they dont stay good that long. Its the only way I can eat the way I do, I work long hours right now so I would never have enough time to cook every night.

I also agree w/bulk cooking. Sunday is the day I go to costco and stock up for a few weeks. Sometimes a pain in the azz when I have to work in the morning. The last thing that I wanna do when I get home from work on a Sunday is cook for a week, ya know? Get yourself a ton of tupperware and youll be set.
I like the way that was put " re-feed meals, not cheat meals" When Im cutting down, my "re-feed meals" would consist of little xtra ww pasta and an xtra portion of sweet potatoes.
Anyways, the diet that I follow is as perfect as I make it. I have been following my diet and using fitday.com to keep all of my numbers in line. In the past 4 months I have changed my whole appearence with training, cardio and esp diet. So to answer your question, yes, if you want to look and feel great, keep your diet in check, bro!!
If you cheat the only person youre cheating is yourself!!

I don't think I have ever heard of anyone doing that, but that is a really good idea, cooking in bulk for the week. Does everything stay fresh? I got a family yo, so the stuff has to taste good for the wife and kids. I'll eat it regardless. I may try that out

Honestly i havent weighted out food in a long time...i used to faithfully...now i have a damn good ides what is equivalent to what - if i were going to compete....i prob would again. I measure out certain foods when cutting - nuts - peanut butter ..oil ...b/c i use keto to cut..proteins i can accurately estimate at this point. Even when bulking fats are the main thing i track - carbs and protein are easy at this point - i do measure carbs but not weight them.. (ie oats , brown rice )

when counting fats do you counts the saturated fats in meats and dairy etc or just the good fats you are taking in. also when counting carbs do you just count complex carbs or do you also keep track of the minimal carbs in veggies, dairy, good fats etc.

I have fruit on my re-feed days. that's it.
not that they don't have their place in a well-rounded diet, it's just not what I do.

1. Do you guys weigh your chicken before or after it's cooked?
2. I buy chicken breasts in bulk and cook them in oven. On some portions its a little more than I need and some a little less, is that ok? Or would your shave off a bit of one piece and add to a smaller one to make the portions equal across the board?
3. Those of you who prepare your meals for a week... do you do this for ALL meals? Like would you prepare your egg/oats breakfast for the week or cook that fresh each day?
Thanks!
