    when to take pwo shake?

Ive been reading a bunch of mixed ideas on this. Do you take your pwo shake inbetween weights and cardio or after you're completely finished?

Personally I have been taking my shake when Im totally finished.

good totally finished is best within 15 mins JMO...

you should be doing something for your pre workout as well that should keep your body full of good proteins, carbs, and fats. JMO

diet is all dialed in. Just saw some mixed reviews. For me, I will not even drink too much water during my training because I cannot train feeling bloated so Ill just take a few sips here and there. About 30 min pre w/o Ill have a sml cup of coffee just for that little jolt! Cannot stand stimulants!

People take a lot of crap before working out. When i say crap i mean something other than what they need. All they need is a good meal. I don't believe in all these supplements like NO etc.

Eat right throughout the day, have a good pre workout meal and you should be fine. Like you, the only think i do as routine is have a cup of coffee before gym, thats it.

    Cool

unless you have problems gaining weight , id stick to one shake after your work out , and dont take it with milk , just water , you take it with milk and you defeat the whole purpose of taking it and most of the benefits it could give you, reason? milk aint ment to be consumed at our age especially when it comes from a cow, and if it wernt for the fact that its treated it would be making us sick. now if you take it with water its gonna go to good use within a very short time , but with milk its gonna add another hour to the digestion maybe more. (see alot of people in the gym who bring along there powdered milk to add to there shakes so it tastes nicer or buy the premade ones at the gym...commen mistake) and dont make another mistake people do , dont get most of your protein intake from shakes ...... nothing beats the real thing , and when it comes to the real thing chicken is king.

I agree on the milk thing. Actually, I cannot remember the last time I had milk??? I have 3 shakes a day, 1 w/breakfast, 1 in either am or pm snack, and 3rd pwo. All my other sources of protein comes from food - chicken, fish, lean steak, turkey, eggs.....you get the picture... thanks for the tips!

i do straight after training, if it stretches within 15 minutes.

if im trying really harden up, i will let it stretch little longer after cardio to utilise fat burning.
it just works for me thats all.

I literally take my pwo shake and banana within 3 min after finished. What if I waited 45 min and just include my pwo shake w/dinner and drop the banana? Dinner usually consists of chic/fish/or lean steak w/veggies or a salad?

finished with what cardio? if so i would wait liek 15 minutes (if cutting), then suck down the shake. then wait 1 hour and eat a refeed meal. just add a low gi carb like sweet potatoe with your current dinner.

cutting, yes. What if I throw the oats in w/pwo shake instead of the banana?

personally, oats are cheaper to buy and bananas go bad to quick and sometimes I cannot get them at work.

there you go, if your shake is whey it will process through your system rather quickly so 1-1.5 hour refeed meal (pro/carb) meal will work.

once again we did suggest whole foods not juices or drinks just imo

also i dont believe in drinking protein while training i dont think it is that much of difference, except if your workout is like two hours then you defently need the protein during workout hehehe..

i eat solid food with my post work out meal usually 1.5 hours after..... for a pwo shake you need fast absorbing items... thats the reason i mix grape juice ....

well if you think fast absorbing works great for you man, dont stop it.

Its just i have tried both and i feel fuller and less hungrier with whole foods all the way through.

    just my personal experience/.

collar i understand what you are saying ... how long after your pwo do you have a meal ? what is in that meal usually....

thats usually my sixth meal which will consist of a protein/carb ... veggies or maybe brown rice ... so i have no need to eat a solid food for pwo...

If i was utilizing that time to get a solid carb then yeah thats the way to go ....

I guess it all depends on the person to ... if you take a slin shot your not exactly going to want to wait for a solid carb to digest ...

my meal after my pwo is usually within 1 to 1.5 hours

it will consist of things like chicken breast/tuna or egg whites with either brown rice or sweet potatoe.
