    bcaa's

was considering adding a powder form of bcaas to daily diet. any recommendations on best way to do this? add to protien shake? how much, how often. heres what the manufacturer recommends:

Recommended Use: on training days, mix 1 scoop with water or your favorite beverage. For best results consume 1 serving 60 minutes prior to exercise and 1 serving immediately after exercise but at least 3 hours after the first serving. On non-training days, take 1 scoop with first meal of the day, take second serving with a meal at least 6 hours later.

For best results: Take along with foods. BCAA has minimal taste but does not mix well. Mixing into a thicker shake works best or put in mouth and wash down with water or juice.

I used o.n. bcaa's and mixed it right with my shakes. twice a day. Honestly, I couldnt tell you what the difference was before, during or after including this supplement. My diet is pretty much spot on and I could not say if it helped or not..

I wouldn't suggest adding it to shakes personally. Use BCAA's in between meals of during training.

Pre-training supplementation definitely has some merit as well, it can help to reduce muscular fatigue and is glycogen sparing in action so can definitely make a difference while training.

Another good way to use it (especially if you are using slin) is to take it immediately post training with waxy maize and creatine/glutamine. Then 15min later have your regular PWO meal.
