Matching fat gram for carb gram (STS Dieting)

Matching fat gram for carb gram (STS Dieting), have anyone tried this for a lean bulker?

Our dear friend Ronnie Rowland claims that this is a secret that is very good kept. (That many uses matching fat grams for carbs grams to stay lean while bulking).

The fat grams are mostly from healthy fats ofcourse.
Oliveoil, all different kinds of healthy oils, nuts, fish oil and so on to get the fat up there.

So anyone tried this? For example when bulking consuming 250g carbs and 250g fat and say 300-400g protein?

I Know alot of you will say this is crazy. I am aware of that this is way outside of the norm, but I am always willing to try something new. I have tried traditional bulking methods and they work great i.e high carb high pro and lower fat..

Is he advocating gram for gram or calorie for calorie? There would be a huge difference in the bottom line.

I hope this does work. Because I love both carbs and fat. Just seems like you can't have both though.

I'm pretty sure it's calorie to calorie, not Gram to Gram!

250g of fat/day = heart attack lol, but seriously thou, you'd gain so much fat!

Directly quoted: "If you gain body fat easily when trying to put on muscle weight you can match carb grams for fat grams on an equal basis! This means if you take in around 150 grams of fat per day you will take in only 150 grams of carbs to keep insulin spikes down".

    Healthy fats.
Have you ever tried consuming 250g of fat, mostly healthy fat with moderate carbohydrates, and about 500kcal surplus?

This pertains to this diet so I'm going to ask. Does anyone have any info explaining the fats? I know that you want your fat sources preferable from nuts, or flax olive oil something of that sort. But do healthy fats store any different on the body than bad fats? As in do healthy fats break down in a different way that they have less of a chance of being stored as fat?

Some people are carb sensitive! For these individuals, I match carb grams for fats grams of an equal basis during deloads to prevent body fat increases through insulin spikes. This means if they take in 150 grams of fats I have them take in around 150 grams of carbs for that day. Keep in mind this is used only as a baseline during low carb days and/or deloads as everyones carb metabolism varies. Matching carb grams for fats grams does not work for everyone. Some do much better on higher amounts of carbs and fewer fats. Protein intake also needs to be reduced during deloads and increased during reloads. Everyone needs more carbs and fewer fats during reloads. You also want to take in more fats and less carbs during deloads. The secret is to take in only enough carbs to fuel your metabolism and to spare protein sources. Let dietary fats increase your caloric intake so you can avoid increasing insulin (a fat storage hormone) while still putting on size. You can only eat so much protein-hence the reason you'll need to incease dietary fats once carb needs are pretty well met.

It was Dave Palumbo who turned me onto to this concept about 10 years ago and it has worked well for me and my clients! He got up to a lean 300 pounds by consuming more fats! I love my smart balance peanut butter and cashews in the off-season. Too many carbs makes us bloated/fat and for some being incapable of putting on muscular weight due to stomach distress or a lack of dense calories.

Thanks for the info. Now I understand better.

this is closer to the diets that the iron guru recommended for his clients (only he used much less carbs). he felt that high protien and high fats with lots of greens and hardly any other carbs (with the exception of whole milk) was far more effective than carbs as they would make one "fat."
i believe that one meal every few days would be a high carb meal and that was pretty much it.
i would like to try it to see what happens but i don;t know if i can do away with most of my carbs. every time i try i fag out after a couple of days.
