make sure you get albacore instead of reagular.. BIG difference.
also they now make a tomato pesto blend that is realy good and the added ingredients aren't bad.

Getting the "cheap one" is the reason why you can't stand the taste.
Solid WHITE ALBACORE is the only way to go if you are eating tuna.
6 cans a day is over-kill, you need protein variety from egg whites, lean red meat (b vitamins, natural creatine, etc), chicken breast, salmon or any white fish, etc. It has nothing to do with the "MERCURY" in tuna, no, but protein variety.

How you will ingest 6 cans of the cheap/nasty variety of tuna (aka "chunk light") that you mentioned over and over that you TOTALLY DESPISE I have no idea. Another reason to avoid eating 6 cans a day is you'll smell like a dead fish and cats are gonna wanna mate with you 24/7.

Spend the extra money and consume the SOLID WHITE ALBACORE. Better tasting, better protein quality for SURE, and you don't have to eat 6 cans, cut it down to 2 or 3 max so you only have to spend the SAME AMOUNT OF $$ or even LESS being you are consuming 2-3 cans/day instead of 6!! Utilize other protein sources as listed and a good protein powder as well of course, a staple in all fitness fanatics cupboards.

    ^^^ +1

I can't STAND the taste of the standard in-oil tuna. Makes me want to puke. The white Albacore tuna in water is the only way to go.

You could always try toasting a couple of pieces of whole-grain bread and slapping some lettuce, a slice of Swiss cheese, and your tuna on that and see what you think.

Well i think the problem here liew in you going for the cheaper one.

The best one out there is the albacore, which is not bad at all and doesnt have that discusting fishy taste.

I just throw a little mustard in mine and wash it down with water, or i too will start gagging.

    Good luck....

whoever says get albacore dont...get chunk light in water, drain all the water out, get a big glass of water ready and take a bite hold it in your mouth drink some water and swallow it, easiest way to eat tuna ever, i can consume a 55g protein can in like a minute and half if that

Yeah by eating 6 cans a day of tuna will cause food allergy. Same with chicken or anything you eat. Your body does need variety - it's the way of the world. Take a look at the RECIPE section for some ideas. Sadly tuna is one of the things I dislike as well - however I still eat 1 can a day of Albacore. Learning to cook really helps ; -)

Try mixing with hummus , they have garlic , tomato and basil .
If not that try salsa . Not sure if I saw someone said to open can , run under water and drain in can . Break up tuna with fork.
One other idea is mixing with relish or pour pickle juice on it.
You have choice of regular or albacore, works with salmon also .
    Good luck

how about tuna with fat free mayo? that mayo sucks but its something to think about i guess..i do that once a while. i do that and i cut up salary and broccily and throw some egg sometimes. Or in winter when im not cutting i do low fat mayo and i throw some grape in there..it takes the tuna taste away

Have you tried making tuna patties yet? That is the way to go if you hate tuna because the soy and terriaki sauce help a lot. Use the light stuff of course.

I add 1 Tbs of sweet relish (no sugar added ) & mix 1 cooked cup of brown rice to the mix also. Works great for me.

I've been running out of beef mince so i tried half beef mince and half tuna simmered in red sauce with vegetables - cant even taste the tuna. It's actually doable until i go buy some more meat.

If you can have carbs make tuna and rice with red sauce (i love red sauce) or a tuna bake.

Also tuna + mayo and crackers are good.

The other day i had straight tuna and broccoli in a bowl. Worst meal I've ever had. period.

I put brown mustard and some artificial sweetner. A pickle here and there doesnt hurt but the mustard is what help with fishiness and sweetner for a little flavor. But I love tuna so....
