    preWO

Hey, i was reading a men's health cookbook recently and the writer stated that an apple was one of his favorite pre workout foods. He said the arginine in the skin was great for pumps and the fructose gave a good energy boost and was easy to process. Sort of makes sense to me, but doesn't fructose usually only make its way to my liver? Does this seem like a good pre workout food coupled with some protein a half hour before? If not, what do you guys mostly chew on before a lift?

i stick to complex carbs about 1.5 hours prior to workout, and ive felt its worked fine for me, im usually not a fan of simple sugars, although an apple is good but to say that it only replenishes liver storage and not muscle glycogen does not seem accurate to me.

i'm working out in exactly 2 hours and i'm chowing down on a big plate of whole wheat pasta, big chicken breast and a cup of broccoli. I seem to get so much better of a workout out when I take in big carbs.

I have a question, is it bad to take in alot of ww pasta(3 of 6 meals a day), i tend to pre cook ALOT of it.

yep, people look at me like i have lost my mind when i say, not to eat within 1.5 hours or working out pre...

Then i explain that it takes the digestive system that long to clear what they have consumed, and thus if they show up with a full or 1/2 full stomach they are holding back what the body can do..

I've done the green apple small granny smith.. i like it, it causes a nice insulin spike and that's the pump and energy that you feel from that..

If you are bulking, or just building muscle and not interested in losing fat then eat away.. otherwise it's stim and depletion/refeed timing with carbs..

bump, how about the whole wheat pasta, any reason why you shouldn't have it 3 of 6 meals a day? other 3 being oats, and sweet potatoes
