How much weight do you guys typically gain on a bulk before you cut??
How much weight do you guys typically gain on a bulk before you cut??
depends on how clean and lean you want to bulk
I just put on about 40 lbs on my bulk and kept under 18% bf
Wouldn't it just make the most sense to base your cycles (cutting or bulking) around your BF% and not concern yourself with pounds gained or lost? Get your BF around 10% bulk up to around 18% then cut again?
Damn T-MOS, hope that I can get half those gains while keeping BF in check, someday when I'm more experienced/educated ex. Pretty impressive!
^^^^ Wow, impressive...
I don't cycle, all natty only 19. J/w cus I'm not sure when I want to cut. I think I may do it mid July so I look good once I go back to college (yes I'm vain lol)
once i get down to my desired BF.. (10).. I wont bulk past 13%
15% BF is typically the highest I will let me body get to during a bulk
i never cut. and ive been bulking for the last 3 years. so i cant really answer this question
I sit at 15 for bulking but always a problem getting down low. I think 11% was my healthiest. I have been lower but at a lot of sacrifice in the muscle department.
I bulk till my abs start to fade. If I cant see may abs if feel Im out of shape.
Living in San Diego, your bod has to be beach ready all the time, so if I can't see my abs, cutting back on the calories begins. I was real fuggin stupid one time, and went from 165 at 8% body fat at the most, and went to 205 on some steroids, then went to 215 after I had been off them for a while, but I got up to 18% bodyfat, which was not very attractive. After a couple of years, I finally leaned out at 205 12% bodyfat naturally.

Don't worry about overall weight.....
Any one can sit there and make the scale go up, there is however a limit to lean body mass one can put on at a time regardless of drugs and to continue to go up in weight and going too high in body fat will just make it difficult for one to shred down and look good.
Lee Priest I once read said he quit going so high in the offseason cause when it was time to get in shape he could never get that area around the hams and glutes perfected.
Prefect example is the guys that do go up in the 240s and 250s with a higher bf then comp time comes around and they'll have to go back down to 180 just to be inshape.
Weight is not relevant in my world. Go look at Flex Wheeler in 1992 5'10'' and 216 at the USA's to win his pro card. Full muscle bellies symmetry etc. How many of us when we shred down can look like him musculature wise, safe to say, none of us
