    farina vs traditional oats

    i went shoppin for traditional oats the other day
    and ran across farina oatmeal, and was tempted to buy after looking at it

    because it taste way better..however i know that oats is just a great carb for you so i stuck with what i knew for sure

    any opinions on farina replacing regular oats? or are their just some benefits oats come with that other oatmeals just don't?

    the nutrition label of farina was like

    fat - 0
    carbs- 22g
    protein 7g ( unsure)

    didnt look bad to me?

    not sure what GI is

    we got
    cals - 112
    fat - 0.2g
    pro- 3.3g
    carb-24.4g
    fiber - 0.7g
    sodium - 5mg
    sugar- 0.1g

    glycemic index which will determine how fast it is converted into sugar... liek why we dont advise white rice/pasta/breads unless its PWO

    very interesting, i always knew wheat bread was better than white
    but never knew why

    sucks i got tons of regular pasta, and its not whole wheat pasta either..guess at least i know when to eat it

    where do you find the GI?

    I googled "GI of farina cereal" and from what I could tell it was around 56 which is in the same ball park as oats. I personally would choose oats because they have more fiber.
