Cheating on my diet = strength gains and fat loss?
i know to a lot of you this may sound bogus, but this last week i've slacked a bit from the keto diet (i do allow a cheat day throughout the week, but this was a cheat week lol) and kind of ate what i wanted, skipped a fair amount of meals and even drank on a few days, and i lost 3 pounds and my strength shot up..now i know you're supposed to cycle carbs anyways and you're body likes to stay in homeostasis, would this explain the gains? i picked the diet back up off the floor today but just found it interesting

Was the diet the only thing that you slacked on that last week? If you slacked on your training you may have picked up some rest that you didn't even realize that you needed. I know that every few months I take a week off and I come back with more strength.

yes i only lifted 3 days last week due to a nagging shoulder injury (and only 2 of them i would consider good strong days), down from my usual 4-5

I definitely think it's a combination of the extra rest and MAYBE getting some nutrients that you weren't getting while on the diet POSSIBLY.
Or maybe it was the beer muscles haha.

Keto generally makes you feel like crap, so I'm not surprised that you felt good once you started carbing up and eating bad food, my suggestion is to shock your body for 5-6 days and eat nothing but protein, not even fiberous veggies.
