After carbing/cheating up, the next days are hell!

I am on a hardcore diet right now, its very low carbs/calories for my size. Recently i have been so drained in the gym and doing anything in life bascially, I decided to indulge myself and fill up some glycogen stores and make my brain happy. But the day and days after I am so much hungrier and can only think about eating more carbs. Can anyone relate?

i personally thought carb cycling was too rough it was a roller coaster and i wasnt functioning right... right now im just lower carb and utilizing it PRE WORKOUT, PWO, AND PPWO MEALS. the rest is EFA's witrh fibrous veggies and protein. i think this wil keep me the most sane and lean.

I was going to suggest ephedrine. Kills all craving for me. Alcohol does the same even tho kinda counter productive. The only other thing i would suggest is not drinking diet sodas and just drink water. Deit soda makes my mouth water. I do believe it has a mouth watering effect when your body expects calories that aren't their. I drink a diet soda and its time for a kitchen raid. GL

That is why you need to do a clean carb up, I did bodyopus, anabolic diet and many more in the same CKD.

First time after my 5 days of low carb i lost a good 8 pounds impressive, then on the weekend i went crazy did a whole 48 hours carb up on skittles, sugar sugar sugar and the works, Monday was hell to get back into.

Second time around i had done a lot more reading and reseach so i limited my carb up to 24 hours and ate really clean foods, rice, patatoes and more.

Little Herc has a very strong point about ephedrine, that really helps cut the crazy cravings.

Makes it a lot easier to go back to low carbing on Mondays thrust me.

i'm interested to see what you think of it. i really enjoy keto. i got insane defenition in my back, arms, and legs. my abs are doing ok too but as usual, they are getting difficult. i actually find it easier to control my eating with out carbs. i'm doing ckd so saturdays everyone thinks i've gone mad. i have to force the carbs down to make the requirements. lol

I know exactly how you feel, I turn into Super Biotch on Keto and hate everyone I come into contact with.

I agree, I tend to crave the carbs just because I can't have them, even eating 6 times a day doesn't seem to suffice

hell yeah, but a trick to that is to carb up with the right sources, if you use pancakes and such you'll have craving the next day due to the "forbidden fruit" mentality, if you carb up with oatmeal and sweet potatos then you won't have as much of a problem

or you can just use meridia

I've been carb cycling for 2 months strict as can be (no dairy, very low sugar like 10g a day, not even fruit). I planned for and had a cheat binge session for like 3 hours (every good food I've been craving). It's been 3 days and my appetite still is killing me! Whatever though I only gained 2 lbs well worth it. 1 to 2 more strict months of cutting before I get another session like that

i can't do that, lol, not that i don't want to but i couldn't bring myself to do a complete binge, it's psychologically taxing for me to cheat, i'd rather just eat chicken/veggies all day everyday with starchy carbs pre/post workout without a carb up if possible

maybe i'm weird, hell i know i'm weird, lol

well, i basically mentally collapsed friday, I couldnt control myself and ate what ever i wanted for 3 days. I am eating my first normal meal, chicken and broccoli, I think i just needed to get it out of my system and refresh my mental state to give into the cravings. I know it set me back somewhat but its now back to work. Today at the gym i know im going to get a crazy workout and pumps. I missed a few workouts and going to pull off a double workout tonight. Coming back to reality really sucks but im glad i broke the chain of my bad eating.

you know, this is tickling me the wrong way..

u mind posting up your diet, in detail, with macros and times???

also, do you have your bmr/tdee

    BMR formula

BMR (men and women) = 370 + (21.6 X lean mass in kg)

in order to figure out your bmr, you need to know what your lean body mass is.. so, in turn, u need to know what your body fat percentage is...
if you dont know your bodyfat percentage, go to your gym and get tested (please dont use electronic scales to get your bf checked, they're horrible)
if you cannot find a gym to get tested at, please post up a picture for estimates, we're pretty good at it (you also have the option of pming it to me if you have more then 25 posts)
Total weight x bf in decimel form = total bf weight
Total weight - total bf weight = total lean body mass
if your total lean body mass is in lbs, u can divide it by 2.2 to get it in kilograms..
    for example..
    i am 6'4 275lbs at 14% bf... so i would multiply 275 by .14 (converted from percent to decimal)= 38.5lbs
    275 - 38.5 = 236.5lbs lean body weight
    236.5 / 2.2 = 107.5 lean mass in kg
    370 + (21.6 x 107.5) = 2692 BMR (this is high for the average person, im a big guy)
    TDEE
Once u have you bmr, u need to calculate your TDEE, this is simply done with some multiplication...
you can multiply it by an activity number to figure out your daily caloric expenditure, be honest here as this is the very cornerstone of your diet, if you are between two of the below activity levels then just multiply by a number in between them
To determine your total daily calorie needs, multiply your BMR by the appropriate activity factor, as follows:

If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2
    If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375
    If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55
    If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725
If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9

i mean, when i diet (and all iv ever done is cut) i dont have an issue with cravings unless im keto... which is the hell im in right now..

let's see what your eating bro... maybe it's too little... or too bland...

this can lead to psychological diet failure...

I hear ya, it would have crushed me mentally if I gave in to a craving (which I basically never do) but I decided that I earned it. What's 1 step back if you take 10 forward beforehand? Kind of a crazy way to stay dialed in but to each their own.
