Tell me in both cases. I've just discovered that fructose is terrible to train and I don't know what carbo take.

you want a slow digesting carb preworkout so that the carbs are used for energy during your work out
fructose is a simple carb and would be digested quickly so you would use it for energy too fast
i use oats preworkout
whether im cutting or bulking
along with a protien
whey protien and oats for bulking
a lean red meat and oats for cutting
i take the whey and oats about 30 mins pre w/o
and the beef and oats about an hour pre w/o

why wuold you eat 30 minutes before training? first off you want to avoid digestion issues, fatigue, etc. so you shouldnt be on about 1.5 hours empty tank as rule of thumb. and especially if your cutting why would you want excess gas in the tank to burn off?

why wouldnt i eat 30 mins before training if im ingesting whey? i wait any longer then the whey will be digested almost as soon as i start working.
(in terms of bulking)
plus i never encounter fatigue or digestion issues. its a scoop whey and a cup oats. its not like its a feast.
and in terms of cutting thats even if you have carbs before workout.
if not then you can have protien anytime within hours to 30 mins depending on what form protien

I've tried not to eat before training, but I train better with a light meal 30 min pre-wo.

eatrainrest can correct me if I am wrong but if you eat 30 mins before your meal your body will be using blood etc to digest that meal instead of going to your muscles that need it during training.

thats right but if its a light meal then there wont be that much blood used
also... thats the point of "warming up" when we train
to raise the core tempurature.. to get the blood flowing. into the muscles and to get the muscles and tendons ready for heavy weights
so eat.
warm up
lift
